This short spring trip kind of popped out of nowhere. If memory serves correctly, Don happened to notice a bargain on airfare to El Paso, TX and he quickly designed a trip around that. Although it was only a 4 day trip, we experience two memorable National Parks. We stayed in the front country campground at Guadalupe Mountain NP and day hiked to Guadalupe Peak, the highest point in TX. The most remarkable part of this adventure is that we drove 90 miles to Carlsbad Caverns where we experienced a ranger-led “backcounry” caving experience that includes just 8 people.
