Jan 2018 – Organ Pipe Cactus Nat’l Monument

We put together a rare Winter/Spring Trip this year. This shorter version of our typical fall trip was to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in southwest Arizona at the Mexican border. We left late on a Wednesday and returned late Sunday, thereby having to miss only 2 days of work and had no hotel nights.

This place was gorgeous and it totally defied all expectations.  The guys were under the impression that we were just going to just traipse around in the flat desert.  We worked the Ajo Mountains over with several day hikes and wished we had time for more.  Because our how the available flights worked out, we did this with zero hotel nights (in case you are wondering about our hygiene, we showed at a trailer park on the drive back to the airport). This was a perfect short winter trip for the Arctic Brotherhood.
